Purpose
NagarPulse exists to help communities document local issues with evidence, verify information together, and coordinate optional peer support. These guidelines protect that purpose and keep the platform usable for everyone.
Expected conduct
We expect members to:
- Treat others with respect, even when you disagree.
- Focus criticism on issues, policies, or facts, not protected characteristics or personal attacks.
- Provide context and accurate labels when posting photos, video, or location-based reports.
- Use in-app reporting tools when you believe content violates these guidelines.
- Follow applicable local laws and our Terms of Service.
Prohibited content and behaviour
The following is not permitted:
- Hate speech, slurs, or content targeting individuals or groups based on ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or similar attributes.
- Threats of violence, harassment, doxing, stalking, or coordinated abuse.
- Sexually exploitative content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content sexualising minors.
- Deliberately false emergency alerts or reports intended to mislead, defraud, or cause panic.
- Spam, impersonation, manipulated media presented as authentic without disclosure, or inauthentic engagement.
- Promotion of illegal activity or instructions that could cause serious harm.
Civic reports and verification
When posting or reacting to civic content:
- Submit reports you believe to be truthful to the best of your knowledge.
- Do not present rumour, allegation, or satire as verified fact.
- Use community reactions (e.g. helpful, misleading) in good faith.
- Do not brigade or manipulate scores to suppress legitimate reports or promote false ones.
- Accept that moderators may remove or annotate content that poses accuracy or safety risks.
Emergency and RouteBuddy
Additional rules apply to safety-sensitive features:
- Emergency alerts are for genuine requests for nearby volunteer assistance, not pranks, marketing, or non-urgent messages.
- Volunteers and requesters must not use emergency flows for dating, sales, or unrelated contact.
- RouteBuddy users must comply with our RouteBuddy Safety Guidelines, including verified organisation requirements and in-person safety practices.
- Payment for rides is arranged offline between users; NagarPulse is not responsible for fare disputes.
Enforcement
We enforce these guidelines at our discretion, considering severity, history, and context. Actions may include:
- Warning or removal of specific content.
- Temporary or permanent account suspension.
- Restriction from emergency, volunteer, or RouteBuddy features.
- Referral to law enforcement where required by law or necessary to prevent serious harm.
